Prof Roy is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience, spread over 40 years, in quality assurance, operations management, and leadership. As a senior team member at Leading Performance and Excellence, he plays a pivotal role in designing and delivering developmental programs aimed at fostering excellence in individuals and organizations.
With a distinguished career spanning both industry and academia, Roy’s expertise is unparalleled. Holding roles such as Quality Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, and Quality Director Planning and Quality Assurance in Higher Education Institutes, he brings a multifaceted perspective to the table.
Prof Roy’s academic credentials are extensive, reflecting his commitment to continuous learning and development. He holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership, complemented by qualifications in Chemical Engineering, General Management, a MDP and an MBA. He has also pursued specialized courses in Strategies for Digital Platforms, Online Teaching, AI for Business, Energy Management, and Program Monitoring and Evaluation, among others.
An accomplished researcher, author and speaker, Roy has contributed significantly to the field through published articles, commentary pieces, and books on operations management, quality management, and supply chain management. His research and consultancy work in standardization, quality, and shared services have earned him recognition on both national and international platforms.
Prof Roy’s involvement in professional associations is extensive, including serving as a Past President of the Southern African Society for Quality, Director on the Board of the African Association of MBA Graduates, and Academic Ambassador for the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS). He is also a certified ethics officer (EthicsSA) and a senior member of the American Society for Quality.

Involved in product and product application design for product specifications and packaging.

University employment: First employed at the University of Johannesburg as a lecturer to conduct evening classes to Btech quality students for 7 years. Current employment as a lecturer and Quality Champion at Unisa. Qualifications in for advanced diploma, BCom, Postgraduate diploma and master’s supervision and co-supervision. Administrator
Vanessa Kilian is a dynamic and highly organized administrative and event management professional with extensive experience in office administration, quality management systems, stakeholder coordination, and executive support. She has developed a strong reputation for reliability, professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to perform effectively in high-pressure and deadline-driven environments and providing exceptional service LPE clients.
With over two decades of experience across quality management, event coordination, administration, and executive assistance roles, Vanessa has worked with respected organisations including the South African Society for Quality (SASQ), SAATCA, the South African National Blood Service (SANBS), Food Safety Network, and Assegai Asset Protection. Her expertise includes event management, membership administration, document control, records management, meeting coordination, policy drafting support, invoicing, and quality systems administration.
Vanessa possesses exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and is known for her proactive approach, strong organizational ability, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving capabilities. She is highly proficient in multitasking, functioning independently, and managing complex administrative responsibilities with professionalism and efficiency.
Her background in quality management includes exposure to ISO 9001 systems implementation and auditing, electronic quality management systems, document control, and participation in qualification development initiatives related to quality management standards and unit standards development.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Vanessa has demonstrated strong leadership and community involvement through church stewardship, community outreach fundraising, scouting, and animal welfare activities. She is passionate about health and fitness and actively contributes to community-focused initiatives.
Vanessa’s achievements include earning a First Dan Black Belt in JKA Karate, receiving certificates of excellence and achievement from SANBS and SAATCA, and completing studies in practical accounting, payroll, and quality management systems.
She is regarded by colleagues and community leaders as an energetic, resourceful, and dependable individual with a “can-do” attitude, strong people skills, and the ability to think creatively and work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
